She Saved Every Letter
Most people save photographs.
She saved letters.
Every birthday note.
Every anniversary card.
Every tiny handwritten message.
She kept them all inside a wooden box beside her bed.
Some were years old.
Some were faded.
Some had coffee stains and folded corners.
But to her, every letter mattered.
Because words carried memories.
And memories carried emotions.
Watching her read those old notes always made me smile.
Eventually it gave me an idea.
An idea that would become the most important surprise of my life.
